Even though many Nordiques fans had given up on the possibility of seeing an NHL team in Quebec again, Pierre LeBrun just provided a very interesting update.

Indeed, according to information reported on TSN, LeBrun confirmed that Gary Bettman is considering an expansion in the near future, adding that four cities, including Quebec, are still part of the discussions.

“For me, it’s not ‘if,’ but ‘when.’ You could feel that listening to Gary Bettman and clearly seeing his body language at the governors’ meeting in New York on Wednesday.”

“It looked like he was about to say something was going to happen, but he stated: ‘No, we’re not ready yet.’ However, he then spoke of the recurring interest expressed in the conversations he has with the four cities: Atlanta, Houston, Salt Lake City, and Quebec.” – Pierre LeBrun

Moreover, it’s even more promising when such words come directly from the league’s commissioner.
