The Canadiens faced off against the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre. During the first period, on a power play, the Habs buzzed in the offensive zone but couldn’t convert.

We held our breath during a sequence when Michael Matheson leaped over Erik Johnson to avoid a collision. However, Matheson’s skate accidentally cut through Johnson’s jersey, and the Sabres’ defenseman instantly grabbed his arm.

There was concern that he might have been cut on the arm, but like a true warrior, Johnson stayed on the ice and finished his shift.

Fortunately, the damage turned out to be just to his jersey. Johnson remained on the bench. It was a close call.
