For years, it has been said and repeated: the Canadiens’ power play is at best ordinary, if not outright bad. Not only do the players struggle to score in such situations, but they also fail to generate momentum.

Martin St-Louis addressed the issue in a press conference after the last game against Nashville. According to the coach, they lost the game specifically because of the power play, and he seemed embarrassed.

Today at practice, the players were working intensely on the power play.

Cole Caufield, who has only scored three times in the last 21 games, went directly to the secondary rink after practice to work on his ability to finish plays, accompanied by Michael Pezzetta.

We love to see that. It’s evident that the young man wants to break out of his slump, and he will certainly achieve it through hard work.
