Healthy Scratches: Davidson

  • Nikita Scherbak is out six weeks following knee surgery
  • Carey Price is day-to-day with a lower-body injury
  • Ales Hemsky has concussion symptoms
  • Al Montoya has an upper body injury

The Price of recovery

  • This injury is day to day and Price is expected to return within the week

  • The injury is also not related to his major one seen two seasons ago. The Canadiens are doing an admirable job of providing information while protecting Price from opposition players who could use the information to target him in the future.

 Sad news

  • On November 7, 2017, Roy Halladay died when the ICON A5 aircraft he was flying in crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. Halladay is presumed to have been piloting the plane, given that he is reported to have been the only person onboard at the time of the crash.
  • Halladay, 40, pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies before retiring in 2013. He recorded over 200 wins over his career. In 2010 he pitched a perfect game in the regular season, and a no-hitter in the post season.
  • He won the Cy Young Award twice, in 2010 while with the Phillies and in 2003 while with the Blue Jays.
  • The retired 40-year-old is survived by his wife Brandy and two young children.

The Poehling trio

  • The Poehling brothers are enjoying their time playing together for St-Cloud State.
  • Ryan Poehling has been leading the way as the team’s top center with three goals, seven assists for 10 points in seven games.

Charlie is an angel

“When you don’t see a lot of shots, you have to work harder mentally to stay involved in the game. That’s something I’ve been working on, the mental part of the game.” — Charlie Lindgren

► Emergency recall

  • Zach Fucale has been recalled on an emergency basis from Laval to be the backup to Lindgren with Al Montoya out with an upper body injury.

Reinforcements on the horizon

  • After missing Thursday’s matchup vs Minnesota, the Canadiens may be able to rely on their top center again on Saturday vs the Sabres.
  • Jonathan Drouin is expected to dress Saturday.

 Remembrance Day jerseys

 Remembrance Day

  • November 11th is Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the USA. Both days honour the sacrifices made by those who served, continue to serve, and more importantly, those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom today.
  • All Habs Hockey Magazine is proud to boast several members of the Canadian Armed Forces among her ranks including Matt Smith, RCAF; Trege Wilson, RCN; and Blain Potvin, CA/RCN.
