Hamilton Bulldogs Pledge Support to You Can Play [VIDEO]

By Kathy K., Associate Editor, All Habs Hockey Magazine

MONTREAL, QC.–The Montreal Canadiens’ AHL affiliate Hamilton Bulldogs recently posted this video to pledge their support towards the You Can Play project. They join fellow AHL teams the Portland Pirates, Peoria Rivermen, Toronto Marlies, Providence Bruins as well as a slew of other sports organizations in addition to various individual NHLers in the cause. You Can Play’s mission statement is as follows :

You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation.

You Can Play works to guarantee that athletes are given a fair opportunity to compete, judged by other athletes and fans alike, only by what they contribute to the sport or their team’s success.

You Can Play seeks to challenge the culture of locker rooms and spectator areas by focusing only on an athlete’s skills, work ethic and competitive spirit.

The  Montreal Canadiens’ own Carey Price posted a similar video along with Shea Weber last year in support of You Can Play. (You can view that video here.)

czechtacular (aka Kathy) is the former follower of a single team, whose interests still are and will always be number one in her book (she is the Managing Editor of All HABS, after all!) but making the jump to junior hockey in 2005 has resulted in, well, quite frankly, a mess that no one will ever be able to understand all at once. A former student of photography, history and communications, she has been to games of the NHL, AHL, QMJHL, CIS, LHJAAAQ, LNAH, and even the NWHL, and definitely doesn't intend on stopping there.
