Catching the Torch: Playoff March, Round 2

Catching the Torch:

Playoff March

Due to the season closing out in various leagues or playoffs commencing, Catching the Torch will be moving to a general bi-weekly format that will be published upon the conclusion of each round of the Canadian Hockey League playoffs.

Rocket Richard Award: In honour of the finest playoff scorer in Canadiens history, this award will go to the best player at the conclusion of each round of the CHL playoffs.

RW Patrick Holland

Holland continues to be a steady source of offence for the Tri-City Americans as they continue their campaign for the Western Hockey League Championship and a potential Memorial Cup berth. In a tough 7-game series against the Spokane Chiefs, Tri-City emerged victorious and advanced to their Conference Finals. Holland scored two goals and six assists over the series to help edge his team to victory, tying him for 3rd on the team in playoff scoring with three goals and nine assists over 10 games. Holland was drafted in the 7th round, 193rd overall by Calgary in the 2010 Entry Draft and was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens in the Michael Cammalleri trade. Holland is eligible to play for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League in the 2012-13 season.
