PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL – With the Montreal Canadiens 2011-12 official training camp set to open on Friday, Montreal Canadiens COO, Kevin Gilmore, announced the appointment of Evelyne Audet as on-air host of HabsTV, the online video portal of canadiens.com and the club’s other digital platforms.

A native of Quebec City, Audet first made a name for herself among sports viewers as an assistant to host Jean Pagé on L’Attaque à 5, a daily television show on V Télé. She was also the voice of the sports segment on the Que le Québec se lève morning show on 98.5 radio. Despite her young age, Audet is already a seasoned veteran in the radio and television business. Since 2005, she has appeared in different roles on several television networks in Quebec including canal Évasion, V Télé, TQS, RDS, SRC as well as TV5.

It was back in 1999, after being awarded the Personnalité jeunesse du Québec award that Audet realized she had a calling for a career in media. Dedicated to achieving her goal, she registered in the cinema program at Collège François-Xavier-Garneau. Following her graduation from CEGEP she entered the CART (Collège des animateurs de radio-télévision) earning a degree in 2002. After a year at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec, Audet enrolled in the journalism program at Université Laval in 2005 where she completed her B.A. with honours in 2007.

As host of HabsTV, Audet will report on club news (practices, games) and organizational activities in the community to be featured in a vast array of video segments to air across the club’s digital platforms.
